This resort is just what you want as a guest. They have everything you need and especially if you are sitting in a wheelchair or have other special needs. When you check inn at the front desk with no stairs so you can just roll in. The front desk can discreet use a pull out desk so you can just sit and relax in your wheelchair.
Guests can use the elevators to get to the guestroom floor, Sprinkles Café, Poppy’s Club, fitness center, outdoor pools and rooftop. All other shops and restaurants are all located on the main level, like: The Salamander Spa, business center, Living Room, Sunset Terrace, Primrose restaurant, Horizons Bar, meeting rooms, and Boutique.
When you get to the resort it is five handicap accessible parking lots in the garage under the hotel. There are restrooms in common areas marked with handicap sign with grab bars and a lot of space to move around.
All the pools are equipped with ADA lifts so it is easy to get into the pools. The beach has beach wheelchairs through Henderson state park inn. The resort currently does not have wheelchair-friendly beach mats, or accessible docks/swimming rigs that allow for safe entry and swimming in the open water.
At the Salamander Spa everything is ADA accessible like:
- All Treatment rooms are spacious with ADA accessible treatment beds
- Both male and female lounge areas are equipped with low profile lounge chairs
- Both male and female wet areas are equipped with roll in shower with accessible pull-down bench
Guests have many options when it comes too the rooms. They are offering 20 ADA compliant guest rooms with different type of beds and in different buildings.
